Still life photography. Wedding rings. This image was created at a wedding in Thassos. This photograph belongs to the “randomly picked photographs” series.
It was at the brides preparation stage, when I spotted this beautiful sculpture and I immediately knew that I had to make use of that. The “getting ready” stage is the ideal timing for the still life photography part, at a wedding.
Although this image is based only in objects composition, I find it very sentimental and symbolic.
Both sepia and black and white format, work for me equally good.
I am including the same photo in black and white so that you can judge yourself.
By the way, on every wedding project, I deliver each image both in color and black and white format.

The term still life has its roots back to 1650 and painting
Inanimate objects such as fruit, flowers, food and everyday items are painted as the main focus of interest in still lifes. The term derives from the Dutch ‘stilleven’, which became current from about 1650 as a collective name for this type of subject matter.

Traditionally, a still life is a collection of inanimate objects arranged as the subject of a composition. Nowadays, a still life can be anything from your latest Instagram latte art to a vase of tulips styled like a Dutch Golden Age painting.
There are two types of still life photography: found still life and created still life.

1 : a picture consisting predominantly of inanimate objects. 2 : the category of graphic arts concerned with inanimate subject matter.
